heavyboots reviewed Halcyon Years by Alastair Reynolds
A little frustrating but basically a good book
3 stars
I was somewhat frustrated by the amount of stuff that is just obviously wrong at the start of the book. To his credit, Reynolds does explain it all by the end, but the story does build up for a really long time in an intentionally cliched fashion. I liked the ideas enough to forgive it in the end, but I wouldn't necessarily make it high priority to read unless you are looking for novels about generation ships or tube habitats.
